Cherry Pencil Post Bed. This style was popular in the early
1800's and are usually country pieces. Both of these are made from Cherry. The
bed shown above is a queen size. The one below is a double size. It is also
available in twin and king sizes. Construction is classic for the period. The
rails are 3 inches square and are mortised into the posts. Through bed bolts
hold them tight. Each bed bolt head is covered with a Horton Brass cover plate.
I include a bed bolt wrench with each bed.
Several different headboard designs are possible with this bed.
