Although I really like the wedged tenon construction on my
standard quilt rack (and it is my most popular piece), the queen size is right
at the size limit for shipping using FEDEX. UPS is even more limiting. If you
have a king-sized quilt or a large comforter you want to store on the rack, a
larger size is nice.
To ship these larger sizes I have to use commercial trucking.
That means shipping an assembled quilt rack costs as much as the rack itself
and takes up to two weeks longer to deliver. So to meet this demand, I
redesigned the quilt rack to ship knocked down, be easy for you to assemble,
and to still be as strong and beautiful as the original. Now you can order the
king sized quilt rack and have it delivered FEDEX to your
home.
The look from the front is almost identical to the wedged tenon
rack.
I used Ohio grown Cherry on this quilt rack. The ebony pins hold
the quilt rack securely and give a nice design contrast.
Here is what the quilt rack looks like when it arrives. In five
minutes, no tools required, and you will have it totally assembled. If you want
a larger quilt rack, and you don't live within driving distance of me, this is
the way to go.
